Some people say that love is not really blind,
for no physical evidence of this could they find -
but I say that this is true, it must be,
for after all that I've done, God still loves me.
Our Spiritual progressThe measure of our progress in God is not exclusively with reference to overcoming our sinfulness– but more preferably with reference to our growth in Faith; Humility; Mercy; Love; Patience and Understanding.
The GuideGod uses many tools to heal,
one of them is guidance.
He leads us on paths
we would never have taken,
ones that change us,
take our hearts and warm them
from the inside out.
When I was younger I hated writing,
but I knew when I got
to a breaking point
that my emotions needed to go
or else they’d go on my skin.
Writing is the way I take
the ugliest of emotions and make
just how Jesus takes
dead hearts and makes
that have healed me.
God guides us in His Word
for healing, yes;
but He also guides us towards skills,
and it is all for His Kingdom.
Write With MeGive me a pen, O Lord
And I'll write for You, praises and worshipful words
For You are worthy of it all
You Who make the universe seem so small
You, the God Whose greatness and size cannot be match
Give me the words and I'll write of Your splendor
Reveal to me Your Glory, and I'll record Your wonder
My hand moves, but Your words flow
If I am Your hands, am I also Your feet? If so
Then lead me, send me out and I'll go
But Lord, please write with me
through Your words, maybe the world will finally see
A Christian perspective on church community. For me, the church community is important because of the social, racial and generational mix you’ll find there. Today we live increasingly in self-chosen clubs. We tend to associate, or hang out with, others like ourselves. Churches are not meant to be like this. The Christian family doesn’t always work out this way. If you’re unlucky, the church you might just happen to visit may have no idea about community whatsoever. In such places cliques form all too easily, the stranger is not welcomed, the enthusiastic newcomer is met with one of those you’re-sitting-in-my-pew sort of looks. The more churches become like the local golf club the less they are following in the way of Jesus, the block Christianity is supposed to be based on. It seems to me that Jesus really liked diversity. His own community contained the lot - tax collectors, fishermen, and women. It really was quite a mixed bunch. But church communities are about more than simply crazy collections of peop
Wait upon God- and be BlessedFor everything good to happen in our life, we must wait upon God with Faith and Humility.
We must wait upon God with persevering Faith; persevering Patience; persevering Hope and persevering Love.
There is Blessedness in waiting patiently upon God.
For good things are delayed, because our good Faith is tested and God's Faithful Love is yet to be manifested.
Let your life be God-centeredFor the most part, our life is either career-centered or family-centered– God is no longer the heart of our self-centered life.
Living a secular life unmindful of God makes our life wearisome1.
Let your life be God-centered– that your life, career and family be restored to a peaceful conformity with God.
1. Physically tired; emotionally restless; spiritually dry and half-hearted.
A Christian perspective on love.Few words have been more distorted and abused than ‘love’, so little wonder we’re left feeling confused. Even though we talk about love is everywhere we often struggle to find love in the world. This is, perhaps, a result of the ‘nothing sells like bad news’ rule: good news stories, stories about love, care and compassion, drop out of sight at the moment the latest terrorist atrocity occurs. This example is instructive, for I would say that real love is the direct opposite of rape, terrorism and murder. Such things are about denying and obliterating the existence of other people. Love, if we want to understand it as more than just a passing feeling or whim, must be something to do with making space for others and giving their needs equal footing alongside our own.
Much of my thinking about love is derived from a small but powerful book by C S Lewis called The Four Loves (1960). In his book Lewis reflects on not one but four different sorts of love. They ar
What manner of faith do you practice? The tempter1 acknowledges Christ, as the son of the living God– but doesn't Love2.
A good Christian(a child of God) acknowledges and believes in Christ, as the son of the living God– and Loves3.
What manner of faith do you practice?
1. The tempter– the devil.
2. His faith doesn't act in the virtue of Love. Love is not true to his nature.
3. Faith, Lovingly and Perseveringly follows Christ in deeds of Mercy and Love.
Hello, everybody! I am an untrained artist, Christian and MLP, SU and other animated works enthusiast living in South Africa. I've decided to combine my love of God with my love of creating things to try and spread the Gospel in a language that many people understand: art. Please support my cause by giving positive criticism so that I can improve my art, and by spreading the gospel of Jesus.
